700 million yuan deal!VOYAH acquires Dongfeng Wuhan Factory

Recently, the Wuhan Development Zone (Hannan District) Land and Planning Bureau announced that VOYAH Automobile had completed the acquisition of Dongfeng Nissan's Wuhan Yunfeng Plant for 723 million yuan. The transferor was Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.

According to reports, the acquired Wuhan Yunfeng Factory is located on Plot 117M1 in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 1,203,472.44 square meters. Information shows that the factory has an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, which can be expanded to 300,000 vehicles. It is equipped with five major processes, including stamping and welding, and supports flexible production of pure electric and hybrid models. The factory will be upgraded into a high-end intelligent electric vehicle production base to manufacture the newly launched VOYAH FREE+ and the newVOYAH ZHIYIN models for VOYAH Automobile.

The Wuhan Yunfeng Plant, also known as the Dongfeng Nissan Wuhan Plant, officially commenced operations in May 2022. The plant is funded by Dongfeng Motor Group, constructed by Dongfeng Limited on its behalf, and operated by Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company. It features a complete industrial chain for the production and manufacturing of new energy vehicles, including stamping workshops, welding workshops, painting workshops, resin shop, final assembly shop, tire mounting shop, and battery pack shop. The initial annual production capacity is 150,000 vehicles, with the potential to expand to 300,000 vehicles. According to reports, the Wuhan plant primarily produces models such as the Dongfeng Nissan Qashqai, Qashqai e-Power, and Ariya models. However, due to market changes and other factors, these models have seen sluggish sales in recent years, with production capacity utilization rates below 20%. In June 2024, the Dongfeng Nissan Wuhan plant was reported to be contract manufacturing the “VOYAH ZHIYIN” model for VOYAH Automobile. The formal acquisition of the Yunfeng plant by VOYAH  Automobile may therefore have been anticipated.
