$59.051 Billion! China’s Auto Parts Exports Hit a New Record—Why Has Vietnam Emerged as the Top Dark Horse?

China’s Auto Parts Export Value in 2025

Reached $59.051 billion

Amid the global wave of electrification and intelligence in the automotive industry, "Made in China" is transitioning from a focus on "cost-effectiveness" to "technology-driven" excellence. Exports of high-value-added categories, such as body parts, braking systems, and window components, have seen significant growth.

How Strong Are China’s Auto Parts Exports?

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, China’s total auto parts exports grew steadily from $49.33 billion in 2022 to $59.051 billion in 2025. Particularly in 2024, auto parts exports, alongside complete vehicles and home appliances, formed the "troika" of China’s manufacturing exports, showcasing the distinct characteristics of "steady progress and structural optimization."

The growth momentum stems from "category upgrades": Exports of body parts (870829), braking systems (870830), and wheel systems (870870) consistently ranked among the top three. Meanwhile, high-growth categories such as window components (870822) and steering systems (870894) showed remarkable increases, reflecting the accelerated release of China’s manufacturing advantages in electrification and intelligent components.

Why Is Vietnam the Fastest-Growing Market?

In the 2025 year-on-year growth ranking of China’s auto parts export regions, Vietnam topped the list, emerging as the year’s biggest "dark horse." This phenomenon is driven by multiple factors:

Industrial Relocation and Supply Chain Restructuring

In recent years, Vietnam has attracted significant investment from automotive manufacturing and supporting enterprises due to its labor costs, geographic advantages, and preferential policies. Leveraging China’s mature supply chain system, auto parts companies have exported core components to Vietnam, fostering close industrial chain collaboration.

Benefits of Regional Trade Agreements

The implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has substantially reduced tariff and non-tariff barriers to regional trade, providing unprecedented convenience for Chinese auto parts products to enter Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian market.

Rapid Growth of Vietnam’s Domestic Automotive Market

With economic development, vehicle ownership in Vietnam continues to rise, driving substantial demand for aftermarket maintenance and replacement parts. Chinese auto parts products, known for their excellent cost-performance ratio and steadily improving quality, have quickly captured market share.

For exporters, Vietnam is not only an incremental market but also a "bridgehead" for entering the entire Southeast Asian region.
